The Government of Ontario is committed to ending mandatory retirement at age 65 in Ontario and is now holding public consultations throughout Ontario on this issue. Click on the following link to become familiar with the issues and in particular, read the Consultation Paper (Providing Choice: A Consultation Paper On Ending Mandatory Retirement.) In your discussions, address some of the questions that are raised in the Consultation Paper. In your discussions, make reference to why mandatory retirement legislation was implemented in the first place.
