Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte Chapters 12-18

Write 4 reading Journals Regarding Wuthering Heights (about one page each)
Below I will provide 4 quotes and specific instructions on what must be done for each.
Please number so that i know which response goes with which quote.

For quotes one and two provide a critical/ analytical response (one entry for each quote). Analyze the authors use of language and her narrative techniques that are noted. Incorporate quotes as evidence. Consider the following questions:

-discuss the language in a specific passage. How does the diction/detial contribute to the tone?
– How is the personality of a specific character established within the passage?
-Does the author use irony, satire, symbolism, allusions, etc. What is the impact of this technique?
-Are there any predominant images that keep recurring throughout the work?
-Explain the effect of any unusual organizational or rhetorical strategies used in the work- multiple narrators, pacing elements, chapter division, letter about events, etc.

1. “It is not in him to be loved like me: how can she love in him what he has not?” Chapter 14, pg. 137

2. “That is how I’m loved! Well, never mind. That is not myHeathcliff. I shall love mine yet; and take him with me: he’s in my soul.” Chapter 15, pg. 146

For quotes three and four provide a “reader response”. Respond to the quotes (one entry for each). Tell how the quotes and events make you feel. You can use first person here. You may ask questions, make connections. The response should offer interesting insight.

3. “Kiss me again, but don’t let me see your eyes! I forgive what you have done to me. I love my murderer–but yours! How can I?” Chapter 15, pg. 148

4.”And I pray one prayer–I repeat it till my tongue stiffens–Catherine Earnshaw, may you not rest as long as I am living! You said I killed you–haunt me, then!…Be with me always–take any form–drive me mad! only do not leave me in this abyss, where I cannot find you!” Chapter 16, pg. 153

Please try to follow the instructions.
THANK YOU!!!
